Meadow and I At the start of the 2017 race
Meadow and I At the start of the 2017 race
I began running 2 years after I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (PD). The Movement Specialist at John Hopkins diagnosed me after I had spent 2 years trying to find a doctor who could understand what was wrong and put me on a treatment that worked for me.

My husband, Ray started running 5K races since 2005, and he always encouraged me, but I didn't have the energy.  In 2014, my PD symptoms now under control, I ran my first Baltimore run and right beside me was my Granddaughter who was only 5 years old. I think we came in with a time of 41 minutes and change.  We came back in 2017 My granddaughter beat me to the finish.  Both times we ran as members of Pacing4Parkinson's, to raise funds for the very disease that I am afflicted with. I knew that I could do much more than others with Parkinson's.   I know that the funds raised go directly to research, and education and support for patients with Parkinson's. I run hoping that a cure will be found.  I have so many wonderful people in my life, and I want to enjoy life with them for many years.
